GdeEtotDom – a Real Estate Portal

Challenge

Our team was tasked with the challenge of building a high load geo-information system working with a distributed team and handling QA.

The client’s main goal was to create a portal for buying, renting and selling of all types of property.

Solution

We developed a portal with a databases that combines information about buying, renting and selling offers of property from over 1000 leading real estate agencies. It covers over 600,000 offers of apartments, houses, land and commercial property. Within this development, our team placed a great deal of focus on search engine possibilities, the “New Buildings and Residential Complexes” section of the website, and Personal Accounts section of the website make it possible for users to place advertisements  on the properties that they’d like to rent, or sell.

Besides these basic functions, the portal that our team designed includes a range of additional services such as flash-based widgets, price indices (e.g. GEDindex), banner network, a set of guarding programs designed to prevent theft of content, etc. Moreover, the portal involves integration with payment systems to carry out pay-to-view-house-details option, such as providing potential customers with the opportunity to buy additional information about selected property. Integration with Google and Yandex maps support spherical street view feature. The website handles over 1 million user sessions per month.
